I have a 2003 Yamaha VMAX 200, the Prop Shaft is bent, any suggestions on replacing shaft myself or have it done? Don't have a repair manual.
Thanks for the help

Bill - it isn't an overly difficult job but it does require some special tools. So probably better to have someone do it for you.
Bill, if you decide to do it yourself, I can save you a little on a new prop shaft. I've got a brand new still in the packaging 6J9-45611-01-00 Yamaha prop shaft. I think it will fit your lower unit. They are about $215.00 + shipping new. I can sell you mine for $130 shipped. I bought it this summer thinking my prop shaft was bent and it turned out to just be the prop hub.

Thanks for the offer, however, our part numbers do not match. At this time my plan is to have the work done, I am current looking for places here in central Indiana.

You might want to check a machine shop to see how much they would charge to straighten it. I have had several of mine done and seen the 225 4 strokes and 250 OX66's done on several ocassions.
