    Ethanol in our fuel........

I have heard some distressing news about how the ethanol is CAUSING the demise of our engines due to deteriorating seals, etc. I heard this weekend that Yamaha has a new filtering device to counteract this problem. Did I hear right or did this person perhaps misunderstand the workings of the in line 10 micron filter Yamaha has had for some time now? Thanks.......G

Ethanol absorbs water much better than regular gasoline. By adding a fuel/water seperator (10 micron filter), you greatly reduce the intake of moisture into the fuel system, and your engine. It would also be a good idea for everyone to start using some sort of conditioning fluid for the seals since it seems like most gas stations are using an ethanol enriched gas.

Use StaBil Marine in every tank fill. It is really good stuff formulated for E10 fuel. Our boater's World sells it and some WalMarts do as well. The StaBil web site has pictures of corrosion tests with this product and it is impressive.
