What kind of maintance to be done on an 06' 250 with only 50 hours on it

Hey guys,
I got a question.
I have an 06' 250 hpdi that only had 4 hours on it when I bought it. I have now had the boat for about 1.5 years and now have almost 50 hours on the motor. What type of maintance does it need. (ie, new plugs, ect.)

I would definately replace the water pump, or at least the impeller. They are rubber, and its a cheap replacement but if it goes, it can definately cause a lot of damage. Your housing may still be good with only 50 hours. Also, you should change the water/fuel seperator in the boat. You have one in the boat, one in the motor, but with only 50 hours, I would change the one in the boat. You can check the spark plugs, but also I would also change the lower unit oil on your motor. Again, its not the hours, but the time.

Changing the impeller, lower unit oil (make sure you use new seals when doing that) and the water/fuel seperator will cost you probably less than $60 bucks, even if you add in new spark plugs your less than $100 if you do it yourself, and its definately worth that.

If your water pressure is still good, then changing the impeller isn't really necessary.
