We are back to Obama's speech

    Re: Health Bill (WillyH20)

IMHO......it can be a good thing.....but I dont see it as a GAIN in any way except for the poor & Non-Working

Myself.....Health care is costing me over $1200 per month for my Family to be covered......my Company is Gracious enouh to cover 50% of that .....so all in all it is costing me $600 per month for coverage with another $700 in Deductable & another $5000k in co-insurance.

NOW.......if the gooberment health plan is passed......this will aloow my company to do one of 2 things........either opt out of cover the other half of the insurance.....or I adopt the Gooberment health plan.......it will still Cost me $$$ based on my pay....and it will be to scale.

Provides sliding scale affordability credits. The affordability credits will be available to low] and moderate] income individuals and families. The credits are most generous for those who are just above the proposed new Medicaid eligibility levels; the credits decline with income (and so premium and cost]sharing support is more limited as your income increases) and are completely phased out when income reaches 400 percent of the federal poverty level ($43,000 for an individual or $88,000 for a family of four). The affordability credits will not only make insurance premiums affordable, they will also reduce cost]sharing to levels that ensure access to care. The Exchange administers the affordability credits with other federal and state entities, such as local Social Security offices and state Medicaid agencies.

Individual responsibility. Except in cases of hardship, once market reforms and affordability credits are in effect, individuals will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining health insurance coverage. Those who choose to not obtain coverage will pay a penalty of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income above a specified level.

Employer responsibility. The proposal builds on the employer?]sponsored coverage that exists today. Employers will have the option of providing health insurance coverage for their workers or contributing funds on their behalf. Employers that choose to contribute will pay an amount based on eight percent of their payroll. Employers that choose to offer coverage must meet minimum benefit and contribution requirements specified in the proposal.

Well, ya got an open mind do ya? Dats good. I know there is a lot of acrimony over this thing but change is what it is. Aint gonna be nuthin purty and nothin sweet come out of either house on this deal. Overall it's gonna be an effort to raise the standard of living for the whole country. There'll be a price to be paid. No sense lettin the soldiers pick up the complete tab for all things cherished. Get ready.

Yes & No......I can look at Both sides pretty clearly.....and w/o all the political Banter spewing out from both sides of the street

the point is that it wont really matter what I say.....I Voted for who I needed to Vote for.....If he (or she) does nto support me the way I expected them to represent me....I WILL NOT be voting for them next time unless they can convince me otherwise.

Bottom line is.....its going to Cost the American Worker & Tax payer one way or other.......even if you "opt out" there still going to charge you another 2.5% of your adjsuted gross (in other words to cover the money they would loose form month to month from you paying into the program) and still going to put to a scale as to what you will pay just to be covers.

only thing I dont like right now is the fact that they havnt come up with a Clear Cut "Scale' as to what & WHO is going to paying for it I know in the end that CHANGE is gonna happen...........but I think it was gonna happen sooner or later......the Dems have been pushing this things since Ol' Bill.......anw now they have the manpower to do it....................it was all a amtter of time is all.....but I'll tell ya this.........the plan they have in place now is a hellava lot better than the one they concocked up years ago

Between the health care and the "Value Added" tax--
There is no way I will be able to buy a new boat and / or Truck
    one they are passed..

Don't like the idea of gov run anything...

Someone said -- the $$$ for clunkers--It cost the gov. 24,000 $$ per car (with all the gov red tape / people).
Heck -- Ryan-- You and I could hand out $$$ for the gov and do it for alot less....

START A LINE Rick.......I'll follow right with ya man

what gets me is that even if you dont have it......you still pay the Gov 2.5% of adjusted gross just cause you DON'T have there plan

OK....so its going to cost me $xxx per month for one plan.......even more for another plan......or get charged a nice fee for not having anything under there "TERMS" come tax time the following year
