    200hpdi actin up again

I was down @ bassmaster elite series to watch pros, motor done it again , if i leave the motor trimmed all the way down when i stop for a little while , it seems to have trouble starting again, like its flooding or somethin, or maybe not gettin gas, just done it once, i had to pat the gas to get it to start, the rest of trip i made sure i left the motor trimmed up a little to keep this from happening, it doesnt do this all the time but its getting fustrating , being this is an 07 boat, 200hpdi, it shouldnt be happening

I agree, it shouldn't be happening. Are you close enough to the dealer to take it there?

My gosh, what do you tow with? I'm sure I can tow for three hours on one tank of gas, but that's still way too much $$$ for the trip.

You may have a small hole in a fuel pump, or sucking air into the fuel line. If it's under warranty, I'd pay the fuel costs and get it to them (if I were you).

Another idea is that oil is leaking into the system while it's trimmed down and when you first try to start it, it gums-up the plugs momentarily...but I'm just guessing. I know mine doesn't smoke nearly as bad if I trim up the engine at each stop.

dealership is at morganton, it takes 1/2 tank of gas for me round trip @ right now 3.65 a gal, it adds up, i dont get but around 14-14.5 mpg pullin boat an that ride is up hilly terrain (mountain area, lake james)....but i heard of other guys in other motors(yammies) 225`s ,250`s havin the same problem, one guy said he had a striped screw or correct linc & sinc problem, andanother somethin along what you mentioned, looks like im gonna have to take to dealer, i just dont want to take up there and they cant find any thing

took boat to dealership yesterday, and was afraid of what they would find, which is what i expected, nothing, which makes the problem harder to find cause it dont do it enough to show up a code on computer, i had em to check fuel delevery, lines linc sinc , and they found nothin, oh well , i guess i wait untill problem gets worse, it just pisses me off cause theres no way it should be doin that, i only have approx 40hrs on engine , an it started around 30hrs, but it doesnt do it but once or twice every other trip, but it cause now i have a habit of NOT lettin motor stay trimmed down when i fish, its pretty much a deal where im gonna have to have a tech with me on there local lake to see the problem, they kept referin to water maybe comin up to exhaust port when its trimmed down an gettin muffled out , or maybe the prop switch i done while back to the txp prop, which all is BS, prop doesnt have any thing to do with engine is stopped off, trimmed down, an tryin to start the motor back up an wont start, props effect performance not startin issue

Well, I guess that's a good thing that they think it's 100% good to go. Too bad it took so much gas to tow it there, but now you have their expertise that everything's ok.

I know how you feel because I had two different chevys that had "issues" that two different dealers couldn't (or wouldn't) find. Not bashing the chevy here, just saying that everyone else thought it was normal.

Alot of starting troubles these days stem from the crappy oxygenated fuel they sell,it dosent matter if its a carb of fuel injected if the gas sits in the tank for more than a week you should add a fuel stabelizer, and ring free, its supposed to help?ethinol in gas is the biggest joke, there should be more stations that carry the good stuff.
