Anyone been down there lately? Was wondering what the water temp. is? Will be going down next weekend for my club tourney. Were only going to have three boats so will just be fun fishing mainly. Thanks

You will have 303 boats ... the Nichols Marine Grand Lake tournament will be Sunday and most will be pre-fishing Saturday also

That is the one I am talking about... they just split the Nichols into 2 divisions.

Last weekend the Great Catch was won with a jerkbait. They would not say where.

Water temp is about 58 deg., muddy and rising water.

I can't say I have never fished Grand during the spring when it wasn't muddy and rising.

I have three friends that'll be fishing the Ranger plus our guys in the club so I'll give a detailed report on what we figure out. If its muddy sounds like super shallow with jigs, spinners and cranks. That sucks was really looking forward to doing some jerkbaiting.

I wouldn't entirely give up on it yet Kyle.... I will have it in my hand some this weekend down there for sure or atleast till I can 100% eliminate it.

You will still be able to find clearer water towards the dam.

I love going down towards the damn to fish but I doubt the guy I'll be fishing with will run down that far. But there are a few good coves around the mid lake that could be good jerkbait coves. I just got one of the limited edition skeet reese pointers they look pretty sweet and should be very visible in stained water.

Update,

Water temps were around 58 yesterday. Lake is high and in the bushs. I caught a couple fish that had blood tails, but most were still prespawn. The bite should be shallow and on fire this week. Weather should be great all week.

I never seen anything over 54 degree's.... your right it should get crazy this week.

I saw some of that too. Tonight where I unloaded the water was 54, but went to another cove and the water was 61.
