    98 VX 225 fuel pumps

How tight should you tighten the fuel pumps. I am guessing just snug. Is this correct?

    Thanks,
    Donald

thanks, I put new ones on about 6 months ago and i guess tightened them to tight. The motor has got to surging lately and I checked them by unbolting them and squeezing fuel bulb. Fuel was coming out everywhere.

Re: 98 VX 225 Problems (DaleHollar)

Ok, i put the new fuel pumps on yesterday and didn't overtighten then. Took the boat back to the lake yesterday evening. It helped stop some of the hesitation on takeoff but I still have a problem.

Today I pulled the vst tank to look at filter. The filter and bottom of tank clean.

I decided to pull the reed cage assembly out to take a look. After getting it off I held it up to the sun. I have 2 petals on one cage that I can see light though. Do I need to buy a new set of reeds and put in it?

    Any help would be appreciated.
