    Re: (Hydrilla Gorilla)

Look, I can't help it if you don't think it is worth your expense to adhere to the rules the state has on its tournaments. I never said I was out to make money and know full well what things cost. I'm looking to give kansas anglers a chance to compete closer to home for good money. I'm not looking for anyone to pay me membership, affiliation, or any other fees either. Everything is out of my pocket if I do anything. What's so hard about having what the state requires? Doesn't seem to be any great obstacle. I honestly think if 20 boats showed up that would be great!! You don't like the restrictions, fish somewhere else then.

    Re: (kstatebass)

[QUOTE=kstatebass]Wait a few years and your going to see some kick ass bass fishing. Norton, Kirwin, and Webster have all filled back up and the bass populations will be like they used to be before the drought.

Glen Elder or Lake Waconda for some, has some really good numbers of smallies in it right now, as well as quality.[/QUO

Glen Elder must have had a big upswing in smallies in the last year. Jackpot buddy bass went there last year or the year before and I heard it was horrible.

Fisheries biologist in my club says it full of them. I think its Angling Nebraska that usually fishes it and does well. There fishing it again this year in May.

I've already stated I fish Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. You started this by asking for opinions in an open forum and then you get your panties in a wad when I give you my two cents. Regardless of my typical avoidance of KS lakes I could conceivably see myself making it a point to show up and take your money.

How about a news crew and a rep from the state to make sure all the rules are followed?

    Re: (Hydrilla Gorilla)

Bob, you keep going on about the rules. I still haven't figured out what is so hard to follow. Come fish the tournaments. I'll need all the help I can get. I'm just trying to give some guys in Kansas maybe a chance to fish something that they usually can't whether it be time away from home, expense, other obligations. Tell me how this could be a bad thing, I mean your the director from the LARGEST state BASS club that doesn't fish in Kansas.

Better Question : How do you get a 5 fish limit on a Kansas lake??

I NEVER said it was a bad thing, I never said you were a bad tournament director. What I said was [it wasn't cost effective for my organization to incur the tremendous expense of conducting tournaments in the state of KS]. Additionally I originally stated that I wouldn't participate, but later recanted and stated that I would come and take your money. I'll once again recant and revert to my original statement that I will not participate since you "need all the help you can get" and I'd clearly be no help at all.

C'mon Larry, you know better than that. You've seen first hand that had I forgotten to take my meds I'd have probably done something really crazy by now.

Log, I would probably fish some of it in 09. My problem is I've already got my schedule for this year. See my post on the other thread for some ideas.

    Re: (getfished)

All the regs are definitely a pain to implement to the letter. The initial startup cost should be shared by all clubs in conjunction with an application for grant money ,State and Federal for conservation and tourism, and research reasons. The invenventory could all be kept in the compound at the Wildlife and parks at the various lakes. The Kansas circuit will have exclusive jurisdiction over the physical equipment. This group will be comprised of and open to representatives of all bass clubs in Kansas, affiliated or not.
Later after establishing a protocol, the "kansas circuit" could make available the equipment for lease to others with the funds being reserved to a maintenence account.

Is it possible? Is it too complicated? Are the grant monies available? Would all clubs participate? Lots of questions

Personally, Bob, I don't think that would work just because how it reads.
I wouldn't count on that argument when the KDWP guy shows up
I'm just stating that some people may in fact interpret the rules that way if the read too far into them, correct interpretation or not.
