    Performance Kits

what's the name of the kits for the HPDI's that, I think come in three stages, mostly the 250 is my interest ? Is stage III any better than stage I ? Is the upgrade worth the cost ? will a Yamaha dealer do a performance upgrade ? just thinking about changing to a different brand and boat.
    tks guys

    Re: Performance Kits (Hardhead1)

Hey all..I have been thinking about doing something to my '04 Vmax 150hp carbed, for the invesment what REALISTICALLY am I going to see.I am told to do the heads, tuner leaving the reeds till last. I know the underlying costs ie.props, bigger jackplate . I have it on a '04 Toon TR 186 and rarely touch the 60-61mph mark running 5600 rpm's,6" TH Marine plate and switch between a TR04 4- blade and a 23" Temptest'

Am I going to see a 10mph increase if I do the whole deal with the Phase kit?

    Thanks in advance

Allan, I'm doing my motor is steps too and Nathan at Hydrotech told me to do reeds, carbs, heads, tuner in that order. Now, I have a Pro-V so that order may differ for yours. Give Hydrotech a call.

Hey, I thought 911 Anglers was gone. Do you guys have a web site?

    Re: Performance Kits (TomM)

HI Tom..the club is still alive and well..we do about 12 club tournaments and still travel as a group and spend the week fishing and relaxing.

As for the website we lost our free host a few years ago and never followed up to get another. The OPEN BUDDY tournaments that we sponsored at Nockamixon and the Delaware River went by the wayside as well.

Glad to hear the club is still doing well. I fished a few of the Delaware open tournaments and they were the best run opens in the area.

Your Hull may not respond to hp like mine does .....I think with a phase II close to 70 would be doable empty

With a Stage III, running light, probably 7-10 mph gain, and a lot of double takes for those you pass.

06 Skeeter zx200... Stock 68.5 - 69 gps.. After all of the Hydro-Tec mods, and several props, and several jackplate adjustments, 87.6 gps. that's a solid 18 - 19 mph gain. Any of the mods that they (Hydro-tec) offer are going to make a difference. Very cool stuff and VERY worth the $$!!!

What prop, and who worked it for you? Did you change out the LU?

    Re: Performance Kits (HaulinBass)

That was a 29 ASX, it was GEBlazer's prop, and I think Mark C. worked it over.. It has the best hole shot of any of the three blade props I've ran.. Also, I was on the rev limiter... HARD... Anyway, I did swap the stock 1.81 lower for a 1.75, but it is still in stock shape, no mods.. Boat handles great, could let go of the wheel and do a big " Waahooo " at speed with no ill affects!!

    Re: Performance Kits (dentguy)

Yeah, I thought the change in LU would definitely be a positive factor. You're still spinning a 29" with the 1.75. Have you had any other changes to the head, porting, polishing, or remapping?

    Re: Performance Kits (HaulinBass)

It's ported some.. Didn't want to go too much, because of losing holeshot.. So far there is no re-mapping that can be done to the ecu on the 3.3l motors.. Would love to have that stinking rev-limiter gone!! I'm going with a sportmaster gearcase this spring for the 1.62 gear, but also changing boats so it'll be a whole new ball game!!

    Re: Performance Kits (dentguy)

Is that an HPDI LU that might be for sale? Can't you accidently disconnect the rev limiter wire.

On the HPDI there is no way to remove the rev limiter (as of now anyway) like on the efi motors.

    Re: Performance Kits (spider1)

Well then in that case. I guess the fix would be appropriate, 1.62 to decrease the R. Dentguy, when you're done, may be interested in the LU you have.
What new sled are you looking at?

New sled....... Um, Kurt Mourer passed along his very catchy disease! I think the current medical term is "Stroker Fever", there is only one known cure, buy one!!! I am hoping to pick it up sometime in Feb.. Do you want me to bring you one of my lowers as I'm going to be in Nixa?
