I think you are on the right track when you mentioned the New Cumara on your other threadthat is a Very nice rod too.
ALSO........I might add that I have a 7'2" that is a 8 power that acts more like a 7 but is VERY heavy for use ALL DAY LONG.
JMO of coarse

my preference for a jig rod, which is simarily aligned with denny braur's, is a soft tip for accuracy and distance on a pitch and a boatload of backbone![]()

I personally use teh Techna AV options, and have recently bought the Spinning Jig rod in the Elite Series. I think Jason Baird and I will attest to the overall happiness with these products. Also I know the Hamels, Edrington and many more will back these products. Not to mention BASS Federation Membetrs have special pricing.

You don't have too, but there is a difference. usually a flippin stick is longer and stiffer, since the Flippin Technique is line in one hand and rod in the other, not engaging the reel between presentations. (Heavy action only)
Pitching tends to be a little shorter, more tip action, but strong back bone (med heavy) usually has a little shorter handle than flippin stick and is made for Pitching or casting jig/drop baits.
hope this helps

$0.02 - I got the 7'2" Cumara and really like it. Plus the return policy is nice - take it back and go home with a new one...
