BASS Club World Championship - Cancelled for 2009

We were informed that the BCWC will no longer exist after this years Championship.
Therefore I think our event at Grand Lake will not be necessary.
They cited lack of participation by the Anglers across our great nation.

It's not worth it. My team and I took 10th place at the Championship in 2007 and got $1800 for the whole team. It took a lot of steps to get that far to only make that much. I'm honestly not planning on fishing it just because it's an extra week I'd be gone for no money.

My club finished third in the Arkansas State Champ. last year, and I was the only one who wanted to go to Amistad out of our six men. Arkansas only had one team to commit to going. I think that the whole thing was a good idea and wouldve loved to have participated.

I think that was some of the problem. Finding 6 guy's to take the time off to fish the whole thing. I know I would have liked to try but never could get anyone else much interested in going.

I kept trying to convice our guys to go. It was at AMISTAD. I would have loved to have gone down there.

I was just in the room, with all the other contenders, and felt like we needed to share these things with everyone, sooner the better.

I don't have anything against BASS and am a Supporter. It's just change doesn't come easy to everyone. I for one am all for change, but not for the sake of change. Must be a clear plan for the betterment of the whole, not one side or the other.
