    Trim switch

Have a 2007 yammie 150 Vmax (carb). The trim switch on the throttle quit working. I can still trim on the motor and trim from the switch on the bow. Anyone else had this problem. I assume the switch on the throttle is bad. Is this an easy fix? My dealer is 2 hrs away I would rather fix it myself is possible. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

You can try squirting some contact cleaner in behind the switch. The next step would be to check the wiring, maybe one of the wires is broken.

    Re: Trim switch (Long Rod)

I had the same problem with my 70 hp. I did fix it myself. I had to remove the top molding above my throttle to gain access behind throttle switch area. Once I gained access to this covered compartment, I discovered that the wiring harness connecting the throttle/trim switch wiring to the wiring that runs back to the motor had partially become disconnected . I simply reconnected harness and then I securely wrapped with tape to help prevent it from happening again. Hope this helps and also hope this is what is wrong with yours, because it was an easy fix.

If the other two suggestions don't fix it, remove the motor cowling, look on the drivers side of the motor. There might be (as I'm not familiar with the 07 model) a place where some cables come in under a removeable black cover. There are relays and fuses here. Check for loose connections.
