Crap that is alot of gas

My partner and I fished the Triton at Grand last weekend. We averaged the truck fuel (desiel) and figured it to be $105. The boat for Saturday was $82.12 and for Sunday(T-Day) was $61.21. So for fuel and gas to fish the tournament was $248.33, the entry fee was $200 for a total of $448.33 and we won $450 which leaves us fishing our azz'z off for 2 days and profiting $1.67 or $.835 each

Thank god we made a check because I actually put $104.16 in the boat Friday night to fill it up which makes me putting $247.49 worth of gas in my boat total for the weekend. but I got to play

Man that could be worth a shiz load of money now days.

Bob, I never figured this kind of deal up till I started fishing team events and now we don't have much choice if we want to make it even as possible. We are lucky to have a friend who owns a place on Honey Creek that lets us stay there which saves some money.

I actually run the boat between 4000 and 4500 rpm to get the best mileage possible Saturday but during the tournament their was no way in hell I could do that with money on the line even if it only means a minute or less.

Re: Crap that is alot of gas (tritonryan)

I dropped $350 in gas going to Pomme for two days. Put $150 in truck and boat last weekend just to go to Wilson and fish for two days. When I got home, I had used up most of that.

I had a prediction a couple months ago that gas would hit $4.00/gall by Memorial Weekend and I sure as hell wish I was wrong, but it's gonna be close.

The worst part is that is not going to get better for a while.

Gas is a real kick in the arse. I'm not fishing tourneys next year unless gas prices drop. Gonna finish up this year and fish when I can afford to next year. I just refuse to pay the prices.

Not a chance in hell that I can quit now. I have put too much time and money into it to even think about it.
