I ended up taking an extra few mile trip down further into Oklahoma till the storms roled through then headed home.

Was coming back from Grand and seen that storm. If I hadn't stopped and got gas I would have drove right through it. Allot of limbs and debris on the highway in Welch and south of Chatopa. Seen a semi blowed off the road by either the tornado or the stupid 50mph winds that followed it. Was a very windy drive. Kind of scary, some of the guy's had left 20 min. before me and I know they had to have drive through it.

I had a late start coming back from Grand. One of the guys I was staying with had both front tires on his truck were flat the night before so I towed his boat the last day. Drove out to elk and dropped it off. Went through Grove on my way home and the tornado sirens went off there got the heck out of there. Also seen the semi blown over, was about 20 sheriffs and state troopers there. All the wind afterward made for a nice drive home.

On the way back to KC last night had to turn around in Quapaw. Tornado had just come through there and destroyed houses. Talked to the state trooper there and he told me that Pichard was gone. The tornado had wiped it out. I hope everyone is ok but the damage I got to see was nasty.

I'm still a little rattled from what we got caught in at Milford yesterday. I've never seen a storm come up so fast, and it only made it worse that we were on the water. We beached the boat in a small cove we were fishing and tried to wait out the storm for about an hour. The rain subsided, and so we decided to idle back to the closest marina. The waves were about 7 feet high, and were often crashing over the side of my boat. The ride in those waves probably took about 15 or 20 minutes, where as on a normal day that run would have only took about 2 minutes. When we got off the water we were informed that another boat had been sunk out there somewhere, and I was just thankful that we were in my 20 footer. Yesterday was just a reality check for me, I guess. If it looks like it's gonna get nasty, it probably is, so get off the water, dumbass!
