    Carpeting Boat??

Does anyone know who does this type of work around the KC area?? Need to get the whole boat re-carpeted and the seats re-upholstered as well. Anybody have a estimate on what cost would be for this work. It is a 96 Skeeter ZX 300c - 21'. Time to do some cosmetic work on the boat!!!

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Re: Carpeting Boat?? (Jmontgomery)

I have been told that it is around $800 or so for carpeting and around 3-$500 for upolstry.....kinda pricey but if will feel like a brand new boat. Good luck.

Ozawkie marine near topeka does that kind of work...you are better off to do it yourself though....much cheaper and its really not that hard...

I've heard it was a bitc@ and then I heard it wasn't easy....I have no patience, so I'd be better off lettting someone else to it.

I have done my last 2 boats myself (carpet). Had an eighteen foot stratos I was quoted at 1250. Did it myself for about 325. Not too hard, just have to pay attention to detail.

i think the hardest part is getting all the old stuff out and cleaning the floors...however, i take that back...the lids are by far the hardest part of the job...but its well worth it in the end.

My dad and I replaced the carpet in our 16' Jason, certainly wasn't too hard I wouldn't dare try to reupholster the seats myself though.

I have re-carpeted my first Ranger. It was easy, just got to go slow and pay attention like what was mentioned before. I got some glue remover from the carpet store and I bought some marine grade glue to put it back down with.

Here's my writeup. Lots of pics. Not hard to do, just takes time. I hadn't done it before either.
