My new Etec 225 HO ran 11 minutes and the EMM took a dump. The dealer sent it back to Bomb for repair. How common is this? I sure hate to start out on a bad note with this engine, I had great service out my '03 HO. Also, does anyone have the part # of the diagonistic software that you can use in a PDA for this engine?

This is not common, parts sometimes break but this is not common.
The software must be registered with BRP to use all the functions and if it is not registered it wont do much.

That indicates it was bad from the factory. A true factory defect taken care of by warranty.

Thanks for the replys. Warranty will take care of it and my dealer is top notch, so I'm not concerned on the local level. I was more interested in knowing if anyone had the same problem or if any of you dealers had run into this.

The part # for the PDA software is 777230, it works for both DI (Ficht) and E-Tec. I thinnk I paid $32 for it from a dealer in DE. To use the software, you need to get a modem cable and a diagnostic cable. Plus, you will need Palm OS 4 or 5.
I got the modem cable online by googleing my Palm model # and modem cable. The diagnostic cable was had from DFI technologies.
BTW, I don't know anything about getting the software registered since I don't remember having to register it when I did the install, nor have I even connected my Palm to my DIs.
