    In line fuel filter

What kind of Racor do I need and anyone know the best place to get them. Also could use some ideas on installation from anybody who has put one in a Triton.

They make a 60 gph and a 90 gph filter. All you need is the 60 gph. Can not help much on the installation on a toon. Now I put mine between the bulb and the motor. Now this is a highly debated install but I like mine there because when you change the filter you can fill it by the bulb and makes every thing easy. I have never had a problem with it installed there. Just my .02

I was told by the local Yamaha mechanic to get the 90gph so thats what I did and its no more money than a 60.He said any small restriction can starve the motor at high speeds.

A 300 HP outboard will only use 30 gph give or take a couple of gal. at WOT
The 60gph filter is all that is needed and will not starve a motor at WOT.
But if you feel better using a 90gph filter then it will not hurt a thing.

Are these filters available at a Yamaha dealer ? Are they a Yamaha part. How often do they need to be changed out.

    Thanks,

Don't know the part number right off hand but I have one in the shop and can get it for you first thing this PM. Your Yamaha Dealer should have them and they should be changed once a year or when you have a problem. There is a after market on out there but can not think of the name of it right now. My son has one on his boat.
