225 yamaha ?

Took the yamaha 225 out today and started it up and ever time i tried to go it would shut off if it was in neutral it would rev up just fine but when in gear i would try to go and it would shut down

when was the last time you changed your filters? How old is the gas? Did you put the boat away last time with a non full tank?

for the filters i just bought the boat in Febuary and spent 3 days down on the potomac and used all the gas and when i ran the boat last weekend i put my boat away with a low tank i just cleaned the fuel filter and flushed the motor had sand in the filter hoping i can get 1 tommorrow and will take it down for a spin.the motor is a 2004 hpdi Thanks for the responce

Make sure the filter is on tight and not letting air get in. I had the same problem. With the cover off pump the bulb and see if you can see air in the filter.

still having trouble with motor now i took it to a dealer and now it wont run at all
