I bought one a few months back using it on my spinner bait rod with 12lb p-line flouroclear. casts great and is very smooth. For the money they would be hard to beat. Just started using the curado's but would say they are comparable in casting and smoothness...school is still out on the durability piece.
My wife got me 2 for christmas i used them last weekend and i really like them. The co my wife works for owns pure fishing so she can get abu garcia reels for half price so it does not matter to me how long thay last since she can get them at that price.![]()
I have a Revo s, an sc and an sx. For some reason the sc doesn't seem to be as smooth, casting or retreiving, as the s and sx. The model s doesn't have any brake controls, that I can tell, and requires a good thumb. The sx is a very nice, smooth reel. I have used it for pitching and casting and like if fine.... but it isn't a curado. That's just my opinion and I know there are a lot of guys out there that would tell you that curado's are fine but they aren't a revo. Try them out and go with the one you like the best. They are both great reels.
A couple of our state team guys have bought some and I think they said they were nice but no Curado, not to mention Chronarch, but for the deal they get, they are nice.![]()

dmorgan35,
The Revo S has centrifugal brakes just like a Shimano. You open the left sideplate and pop them in and out to change the amount of braking.

The ReelDoc is right, I misstated that. I should have said adjustable from the outside. With that said I should also included that I don't find it that big a deal. I, and all the guys I know anyway, don't mess with that adjustment anyway. Not speaking for everyone but I adjust the weights, half in and half out, turn the dial to about 6-7 and then educate the thumb to work with it.
