    Lower Unit leaking lube

    Motor is a 1989 Yamaha ProV 150.

Walked out to the garage the other day and I see lower unit lube on the ground! It's leaking out from one of the weep holes on the port side so I'm suspecting the oil seals under the water pump base plate. No other leaks so I'm sure the prop shaft seal is fine. I drained the oil and water and refilled with fresh lube to keep the rust down. Also no metal shavings on the magnet.

Are these seals easy to replace? Anyone have any pointers? I knocked out the woodruff key about 7 years ago when I replaced the worn out base plate so after that is all new territory!

Or should I bite the bullet and let a pro handle it?

Any and all help/info is greatly appreciated!

Let a pro handle it because it takes special tools to disassemble/reassemble. After replacing the seals it should be pressure and vacuum tested too.
