Attention Kansas guys..............ABA D61............

According to 3 different sources now.......Mike Schulte is not planing on being D61 Director for the 2008 season..............Possibly due to the Decline of participation or other factors unknown.

as of right now there IS NOT a schedule posted for Kansas D61 for 2008 on the ABA site.

If you guys know of anyone wanting to continue this District you might speak up now or D61 will be dropped from the ABA all together unless it is re-established under new # or different Director.

I heard that as well. The turn out was pretty bad the past couple years, def not a surprise that it folded.

I really enjoyed fishing District 61 when Kelly Ross was the director, seemed like he usually had a pretty good turn out. Given Schulte was a good director maybe could of tried a little more as far as getting more of a turn out. A lot of people never knew when the tournaments were which I think really hurt the district. This is my opinion if someone were to start up or take over the district I think they have better participation if they went to more lakes then just one. The reason I think this is Don Vaughn the previous director out of colorado district 55 would go to Cedar Bluff, Norton, Kirwin, Webster, and Wilson and almost always had a full field, given Kirwin, Webster and Norton are not what they used to be.

I tried attending as many as possible last year but after the 1st 3 it was pointless for me to continue...............The 1st opener last year was actually pretty good but it was because of the weekender series coming in.......and I think Timmy knows the story better than anyone else on that one

Other than that...........I dont know. I have not attended a single D61 tourney this year at all

I will agree with that......Kelly seemed to have a decent turn out ans even when Terry Taylor came to Milford once a year or so......doth Districts got together for a hellava turnout I think

too bad some of the Luster went away after that.
