I don't know anyone who has shot one yet. But, if your not wanting to get a remington model 700 and wanting to stay a little less expensive I know that the savage rifles are priced right and are damn good rifles. Shot one while going through the FBI sniper course and it shot well the whole way through. It was a 110 Tatical .308 cal. 25-06 is a great round. Shot a few of those and they are very flat shooting with very little recoil and very accurate.
I wouldn't be to hot on a scope that comes with the rifle either because most likely you will throw it away and put a good scope on it anyway. Most of the time the scopes that come with the rifle aren't the best.
yea looked at some of the Savage models and they seem like really nice guns but they area around like 550 and only diffrence is the ones that he has at that price was had scope mounts and a scope and a cheap sling......not somethin i really need i want to put my own on it and the rifle from what i have read review wise is gettin some good reviews was hopeing someone had shot one though
the Rem 700 is a sweet gun but a little out of my range right at the moment tryin to trade the pistol off on somethin
and how did you go through the Sniper School Jack that would be pretty cool id like to try that
i've only shot their shotguns and currently have two of them. I love mine![]()
the quarter bore is a good Cartridge..i have one in the 77 ruger.. looking to get a thumb hole stock for it.. i have a Savage in the 17HMR that will stack'em
I would love to have a Rem 700 in 220 swift with a thumbhole stock. As far as the original question no I have not shot a Mossberg rifle.
I got the chance to go through in the military. was a good course, civilian style so our shots were only out to 100 yards but they had to be in the vital "T". Got a lot of information out of that course (most of which I have forgot) but I think I still have the books and such. One thing about my job is we occasionally get to go to some really cool stuff. Two courses at gunsite last year. Best weapons training I have ever had.![]()
I haven't read anything about the mossberg but I would assume they would be OK. I mentioned the Savage as an alternative to the Remington. The 110 I was shooting was hanging right with the remington 700 (M24) that some of the other guys had.
Hey Melvin I have an HMR too and it is a tack driving little devil. Fun as hell to shoot.
it turns a sparrow into a feather puff![]()
