    Choke on VMAX150 carb

Playing with motor this past Sunday and notice that the electric choke was not engaging "quick". It would pull it in sloooooooow. So i took the "wire" (from solenoid to links) to the choke butterflies off and moved it manually. Manually, you close them and it takes about 3-4 seconds for them to open back up once you let go. What can be causeing them to be slow. Almost seems to be gunked up but i looked around and can't find anything. Has happended before and also to the point of not closing. Oh, and it's not the solenoid, that works fine.

Something on the linkage is restricting the movement, have you checked for anything like a wire or hose being the culprit? Another idea might be that something needs a little bit of lube on the linkage, or the roller cam.

I'll tell you, I started using the manual choke and my motor a while back and it starts much better. I know this doesn't solve your problem. But the manual cranks mine better.

have you removed the air box and looked into the carbs to see if there is gunk around the choke butterflies

    maybe a weak return spring???

I looked around and couldn't see any thing that may be gunked up. I think i'll try some lube around the springs and linkages. I would assume that WD40 would be ok? If not let me know what to use. Cause i'm anal about keeping it clean, i'll be using a rag behind it when i spray. So shouldn't mess things up.

I've been using the manual lately and yes it does work better and faster than the key choke.
