Great info y'all. I've been wanting to read hours, temp, r's, etc off the engine displayed on my 332.

Will this cable work on a 2004 200 HPDI?
If your motor is Command Link ready, it will work. I beleive all the 2006 motors are command link ready. My motor is a 2005 and is not listed as command link ready, but it had the command link connector (white shell with blue and white wire) so I connected it and it worked. I do not get as much data as the 2006 models. I cannot see trim and do not get engine temp. I guess Yamaha was still in the development phase. Here are some pictures:

What is the manufacturing date of your motor? My motor is a 2005 225 hpdi, manufactured 08/04. I have the connector with the blue/white wires on the side of the motor, starboard side. I am going to purchase the interface cable, and hope it will work.....
Thanks.
What outputs do you see?
How did you get the cable into the motor housing?
The hardest part of installing the cable was pulling it trough the engine loom. My 2006 250 HPDI reads Engine trim, engine temp, alternator voltage, fuel rate hours used fuel pressure on my 337. forgot one thing engine RPM![]()

1) How much was the cable, and where did you get it?
2) That is my biggest concern getting it through the engine loom - how did you do it??
Thanks,
Don<><
We paid $64.94 got it from LEI Extras 800-324-0045.
We used a wire worm to pull it. Just real hard getting the blue end to go, just a tight fit.

To get the cable down the loom, first remove the two bolts that hold the grommet bracket to the lower cowling (this is where the wires/cables go into your lower cowling.) Lift the seal on the lower cowling and remove the bracket. The rubber grommet can be opened up. The cable has a small diameter so it should fit in the rubber grommet. Now snake the blue LowrnaceNet connector down the loom towanrd the boat and connect it to the bus. This was easy on my Ranger that uses netting to cover the cables. I helped a friend rig his Skeeter and it was a little harder to do since it uses a hard tube to protect the cables. We ran a coat hanger with a string down the loom then tied it to the cable and pulled the cable through. Close the rubber grommet and press is back into the cowling and reinstall the bracket and press the cowling seal back down. It is not hard to do. Takes about 45 minutes.
I'm not sure on the price of the cable.
What motor do you have? VZ175 HPDI? Does yours display RPM? I'm hoping that I will have the same success as you with getting this to work, as my motor was also made 08/04.
Thanks.
how long is the cable from lowrance?? my "network hub" is under my console....
THanks

Just curious, how come there is not a wire coming out of the engine interface module that runs to the motor (in your picture post)?
Okie, thanks for the photos. Great install!![]()

I have a 4 stroke F150. I get fuel rate, engine hours, rpm, oil pressure, alternator voltage, boost pressure.
I have some friends with 2006 motors and they get all this plus engine temp and trim (only get trim if unused pink wires near White connector are connected - I beleive this causes the analog gauge not to work).
I'm not sure what you mean about wire to the engine interface module. The Blue and White wires on the white connector go to the Yamaha ECU. The Lowrance adapter cable has a black connector with a black cable comming out of it and is connected to the White connector. It is hard to see the black cable in the photo.
Thanks okie for the info. You have been very helpful.
Hope you all are able to get connected. It looks like the cable is 10ft long.
Fyi... I just purchased the cable today from http://www.ByOwnerGroup.com for $44. You have to call them though, as it is not listed online yet...
They have them in stock.

I just ordered from LEI, wish I had seen the post above it would have saved me $ 20.00.
Will let you know how it goes in.
Peace,
