    clogged speedo

    Hey My ? is how do un clog the speedo tube the clog is not in the foot I believe I got most of the clog out last time at the lake but didn't clear it all now its clogged up in the tube. the speedo will work slooowly when I'm on plane what my concern is water freezing in the tube when it doesn't drain I found the connection under the cowling I was wondering if theres a conection closer to the foot I have a 3.3 L yamaha 2006 HPDI

    Yes, there should be a connection close to the foot you can unhook and try and blow it out. At least on my Yamaha's there has been

    I never hooked mine up cause they always stay plugged! Just use a GPS cause the speedo is not worth messing with!!!

    Yes if you fish waters with lots of debris your going to clog it but its not that bad.

    I have run my new hammer for 6 month now and no clog yet.

    Had my '03 for one week before it clogged and never worked again until I replaced the lower unit last year. Worked for a day and then clogged again. Just use the gps and forget it.

    kb here on my 224 200 hpdi at the lower unit just above there are two plastic wrap arounds that are bolted to gether with a #10 metric socket that just holds them to gether and the plastic pieces just slid back of of there clips. takes about 2 min. to take off. there you will see the rubber speedo hose that has a union there pull apart and shoot air down rubber hose. if that dont get it forget it till its time to put water pump impeler on new kb
