    Co-Worker

A lady I work with is deaf and her husband is as well. He fishes a couple of circuits one being for deaf fishermen. They had their national finals last week at Table Rock and her husband won the T. She sent me this e-mail this morning. Just like to say congrats to Joey Herman

    Bob –

Joey won the National Bass Association of the Deaf (NBAD) fishing tournament! Here’s the link where you can read the info about the tournament below (when you look at the picture, Joey’s on the right – his fishing partner, Martin is on the left). Marti

I guess I knew that there were other circuits specifically providing opportunities for handicapped people such as the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) but have not researched it enough to know that there was a circuit such as this. When you think about it or look at it from the perspective of the fish, they are not the discriminator. It matters not to them whom is at the other end of the line. All they do is attack the lure. I assume that I am in-tune enough with my own senses to be a decent fisherman but I think that those with physical challenges to overcome are even more in-tune based on the challenge that they face on a daily basis. I think that I would welcome the opportunity to fish with someone such as this gentleman just for my own education.
