Logan, I fish there all the time. When that river turns on....its ON! I havent done too well up there yet this year. It is SO crowded this time of year.
My best time to fish the river is in the fall (Oct and Nov). In the last few years I have 5 over 8 lbs....most in the fall. A few years ago (before the KC Star write-up) you could fish a rogue in the winter/spring along the bluff by the island a absolutely put the hurt on them, but the weekend after the article in the paper....15-20 boats were on the bluff almost every weekend.
