    New question with yamaha digital gauges?

    Okay got the wood out of the little hole on the nose cone, went on the potomac today, and the gas levels stopped showing??? I figure the sensors are loose or something but where are they, or another idea??? As well as I reset the trip mileage, and now it doesnt add up anymore, just "00" there??? hahaha sorry not used to this fancy technology!! But I am loving my dodades!

    Glen the fuel quantity sensor is locate on the top side of the fuel tank, usually toward the rear of the tank. There's probably and access plate or cover you'll have to remove in the deck to get to it. You can test the gauge by shorting the two wires at the sensor together with the ignition key "ON". The fuel gauge should go to FULL. If not there is a problem with the sender or a break in the wiring to the gauge (or the gauge is bad?). The senders are standard float/resistor type and standard 5-bolt SAE pattern mounting holes. I recommend the Centroid electronic senders as replacements, rather than the float/resistor setup they use electronic capacitance to measure fuel level. They're fully calibratable too so they are much more accurate.
