    Central Indiana smallies

Taking the day off work tomorrow to go fishing. I would really like to go some place where the opportunity to catch smallies exists. Thinking Brookville is my closest, best option. Any other suggestions? Looking to stay with 1.5hours from the Indianapolis area.

Prairie Creek is producing some good smallies at this time. The white rive at Broad Ripple, i have no idea how it looks....

I have seen some good reports of Brookville, but can't give a report first hand. Which side of Indy are you on. If you are on the north side you could make it to one of the northern lakes in 1.5hrs.

    Re: Central Indiana smallies (BigRed44)

We had a club tournament @ Brookville last Saturday and I had a blast. I had nine keepers with the best 5 around 8.5#. It took 10.5# to win. We had 6 limits weighed in out of 17 guys and everybody weighed in something. There were a lot of smallies weighed in. Eight of my nine keepers were smallies. Caught them on top and with tubes around rip rap.

    Re: Central Indiana smallies (dannyphil)

I'd say Brookville is the best place in Indiana for the smallmouth other than parts of the White River...

I've had 50 fish days at B-ville.... all smallies and keepers.

IF you don't know the river you can trash a LU real quick.

    Re: Central Indiana smallies (Lucky1)

White river isn't an option with my boat, want to avoid trouble. Brookville it is. I have a good majority of the day to spend there so I should figure it out pretty quick.

Westside is having a nite tourney also. I for one can't figure out why they just don't get together.

I am sure there's more to it but I like fishing both circuits. Bunch of good sticks in both clubs.

Re: Central Indiana smallies (Tony Pennington)

They used to be one club.."west side" Then there was a falling out about something. That is how OKI started. From what I have been told

Donovan runs a great trny also.. He joined his trnys "%100" up with west side this year, so westside is not the same as the one I mentioned above.

    2 good groups of guys
