Flooding aftermath - MUD - Cox Park and Ramp near the Falls of the Ohio

The city of Louisville and city of Jeffersonville are busy cleaning up the mud/silt deposited from the high waters. I took a few pictures yesterday while out having lunch.

Supposedly Louisville is subcontracting the cleanup and put a deadline of 10 days for the parks to be back operational again. If that's the case, then Cox Park should be ready to go by the 18th - I plan on trying to launch out of there this Sat if they're ahead of schedule. There was already a skidsteer out there getting started.

    Anyhow, here are the pictures:

Have you been by there today Scott? Just curious what the ramp is looking like. I may try to fish Harrods Saturday.

Went by Cox on Tuesday - ramp looked great, but the parking lot was what was bad. It's got about 6" of silt/mud/sand, which has the park closed. I'll try and swing by there later today and see if they've got it scraped off yet.

Duffy's parking lot is cleaned off - the ramp itself has some mud/silt on it, but is usable. Might get your trailer tires a little muddy. Don't back down the ramp too far though if all you've got is a 2WD.

They should be out there now cleaning it before the sun comes out and turns it into concrete

    That would be too easy!

Went by Cox Park last night (Thurs night) and it was still closed. Looked like they attempted to make a pass with the backhoe in the parking lot, and gave up
