You're that worked up over it? Geez man.....go fishing or something.![]()
Too damn cold to do that. I hate winter, except for UK ball.![]()
After the NCAA commented that Cam Newton would have been suspended if his dad actually got any money, I don't see them letting Kanter play.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
That's all fine and good. But if the kid can pay the money back, let him play. It let Josh Selby play at Kansas and Kansas paid his money back. I know, they took it outta his scholarship, but it's pretty much the same thing because he probably qualifies for some type of financial aid. If Enes can pay the money back, let him play and the games he's sat out should be time served as a suspension.

it's not the same, Selby did not sign a professional contract and play a whole year of ball overseas... (apples and oranges) If he gets cleared I will be amazed.

Kanter never signed a contract. He did play ball, but with no contract. He tried to do the right thing, but didn't understand the NCAA rule. Selby violated the rule knowing full and well he was doing it. You are allowed living expenses if you play ball, be it over seas or in AAU in the states. Kanter just didn't know how much.

I'd say the NCAA didn't either. Just making it up as they go along.

I figured the NCAA would rule him ineligible because they can't do anything right. Clear Cam Newton, Selby, as well as others who've done much worse, let Pearl slide and continue with the stupid Bowl aspect of football which means nothing.
NCAA has become a laughing stock in many peoples eyes as a governing body.
Charlie
I guess Enes should've stolen laptops, sold his jerseys for profit, cheated on his wife and paid for the abortion, been arrested for drugs and assault, lied about recruiting violations, choked his players, choked his coach, thrown chairs at referees, solicited $2000 from Mississippi State, cheated on his exams, and taken Âindependent study classes instead of actual classes. Then maybe they would have ruled him eligible.
I don't agree with the ruling but it is what it is. Anyone in their right mind should have known this was coming though. He is going to stay on as a student assistant until the draft though. At least he can keep working with Josh and Eloy for the rest of the year which will be great for the 2 of them. I'm actually one that can understand why they ruled this way, although I don't agree I understand. Where Selby was about $6,000, and Sidney was about $12,000, Apparently they thought $33,000 was to much money just to rule they can pay it back. For me anyway I get that, you have to draw a line somewhere, even though the NCAA seems to move that line around an awful lot![]()

They only pick and choose who can make them the most money. They keep Kanter out, who wants to be a college athlete. And they let Cam Newton and the Ohio St. players play because they saw $$ signs for bowl season. All those boys will be in the NFL next year. They don't give a crap about college, other than it being a stepping stone to the NFL. They punish the kid at Vandy because he bought a parking pass from another student. Just because he was a student manager, it is a violation. If Kanter or the kid at Vandy were about to take their team to the Final Four, they would be in there like a hair in a biscuit.

Maybe he should stick a $1000 in a FedEx envelope and send it to.... Oh yeah Eddie Sutton already did that... and your fab 4 or 5 who were drafted last year were great scholar athletes right??? It happens at every school... Dan![]()

Everybody knew they were going pro after one year. They didn't hide it. They weren't caught selling their jersies and rings and giving autographs for tats. Your Ohio St. boys beat Arkansas because the NCAA gave that game to them on a silver platter. If it wasn't a BCS game and it wasn't the NCAA darling OSU, those boys would have never seen the field. The NCAA plays favorites, everyone knows it. They let those boys play so they could get better ratings, a better game, and more money. My point wasn't about one and done or leaving college early, it's about holding a kid out that wants to be there and tried to do the right thing, but didn't understand the rules vs. letting a couple of boys play that are just after a paycheck and going pro as quick as they can.
