    Reel Repair

Can anyone recommend a person or business that does reel cleaning, maintenance, and bearing upgbrades. I would like to have it done locally, but am willing to ship it if needed. Its a two year old Curado that I use mainly for cranking and it was starting to feel a little rough last season. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Reel Repair (HntKntcky)

The Reel Doctor right there in Bardstown is great as far as being local. I had some work done about 2-3 years ago and never had a complaint with the quality of work that was done. There are some great board sponsors as well but it sounds like this guy os more up your alley with him being just up the road. Again, I had a great experience in doing business with him.

    Heres his webpage

I always send mine off to Michael Stranz and have always been VERY happy.

    Re: Reel Repair (Z20basser)

Just do it yourself. I started cleaning mine last year. I soak the bearings in acetone and I was able to buy the bearing oil, gear lube and drag grease for about $20 or so shipped to me. If you've got the schematics you can put it back together fairly easy. I cleaned all of my green curados, citicas, and curado ds and they are smooth as can be now.

Here's where I bought all the stuff. I got the synthetic gear grease, shimano drag grease and yellow rocket fuel bearing oil
