My parents sent me this picture of a Lake Waveland Muskie in West Central Indiana. Next door neighbor found it floating down by the dam. Not sure if it was dead due to DNR putting out rotenone or natural causes. 38 inches, 16+ pounds.

went to waveland today, they put chemicals in the lake to kill the shad, lakes dead, lots of dead bluegill and stuff floating too
Nate, that is left over from the 4th. That is when the DNR applied the rotenone.
It affects the smaller fish, so hopefully you did not see any nice sized bass.
Not surprised to see bluegill floating. The lake is not dead, they only applied in certain areas, not the whole lake
They should net those shad and sell them as they do on Kentucky Lake. Better than killing the other small fish.![]()
Actually they just treated it again this time to do a shad kill last week. Talked to a guy that went out there today and said shad were everywhere. Saw a couple of small bass but nothing major. This is not left over from the 4th of July. Also was told that the Jim Harkey has passed away. Prayers go out to him and his family he did a great job running USA Bassin the past couple of years.
I never said it was from the 4th of July, I know it was from November 4th. Where did I say it was from July 4th?
I grew up on that lake and my parents still live on the lake, so I know what is going on, not to mention it was posted on bigindianabass.com that they were closing the lake and treating it on November 4th.
Sorry to hear about Jim Harkey, my partner and I fished two USA Bassin tourneys this past spring and he was running it and did do a good job.
