    question about props??

I am wanting to get a new prop i have a 2007 stratos 294xl with a 200 yamaha on it. I was looking to get a 26p fury. My question for you guys is will a dealer take a trade in on my used prop?? Its a 25p facory yamaha, and i also have a 22 p turbo thats been sitting around from my last boat. What should i expect to get for the used props if they will even take them??? There are in great condition.

I would like to know how that prop runs on your boat as I have the same stock prop on my 294 now.

not sure about whether a dealer will take them on trade in.... MY guess is that id depends on the dealer. Also have you looked in the props for sale sections here on BBC? I have sold and bought props here before and it is a great resource. You will probably find a better deal here and get more outta your used props than you would on a trade in.

No expert ,,I would try a 25"Tempest ,3 blades or a 25" Trophy ,,4 blades and you can buy them at BBC props for sale for about $225.00. I have bought 4 props and 2 plates off BBC boards and these guys are all straight shooters. Also the boat should run in the low seventies.......

Unless you think your going to push that boat up near 80, that 26 fury may be too stiff for you turn.

i agree with roddy. I think that a 25" fury or a 26" tempest plus would work really well.

    Re: question about props?? (RoughThumbBG)

ok i went fishing today, and on my way home i stoped by the dealer to see what they thought. They let me try out a new 25p fury. It did alright i got it up to about 71, but i took forever and was only turning about 5500 rpms. They told me that what prolly happend is when i had my prop redune it didnt get back to the way it originaly was, there for im not getting the same mph i was getting. So im now eaither gonna buy a factory 25p yamaha prop. or a 25p tempest. I have they prop i have on it now and another 22 turbo prop at my house i wanna try to trade in on the prop if they will do that.

you could send your stock 25" Yamaha prop to mark croxton and have him balance and blueprint it and it will be cheaper and faster than a new stock one. OF you could still sell it on here, but be sure to let the buyer know that it has an issue and needs to be repaired to run at full potential.

+1 on the sell it yourself threads, you'll get more money for it by selling it yourself... Dan
