    Advice Would Be Appreciated

Think I am going to get the Ranger out of the garage for the first time since, I think, last August. Last time it was out I had it serviced (not winterized) at Jet A for an idling problem. Took it home and its been in the garage ever since. I don't think there was a whole lot of gas in it when I put it up. Do I need to run some Sea Foam or other such product through the gas tank with some fresh gas, or do anything else? Motor is 225 Opti. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm no mechanic, but if it's been in there since August and it wasn't winterized I would get rid of the gas that is in it. I've heard that fuel can break down pretty bad within just a couple of weeks so I would say siphon that stuff out. Do you have any of the "ear muffs"? That way you could fire it up before you get to the lake and make sure some stuff will run ok. The guys over in the Merc board can steer you in the right direction for sure.

I've had a couple other priorites the past couple years, one being a son who started playing Cal Ripken League baseball at age 7 and is now 9 and has played through spring and most of summer the past couple years. I'm sure other dads who fish have gone through this time, its great to be at the ballfield and I would not trade it, but it cuts way back on the fishing time.
I should sell the boat, but get some comfort knowing its there and I "could" go fishing if I wanted to.

Drain and refill and use Mercury Quick Clean in the tank of fresh gas.

Cassell said he could assure you that once you get her wet again, he could keep the cobwebs out of it for you.

After spending 6 years and thousands of bucks traveling with my son and his select soccer team, he remarked to me, "Dad, we never did spend much time together. We never went camping or anything." I think there is a lesson there, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.

Re: Advice Would Be Appreciated (BJE)

    Chief Paduke,
I have a 3yr old boy and 5 yr old girl and was wondering if parents really spend quality time with there children when they are playing sports. My daughter and I watched the Elite series on KY Lake this past weekend and asked me when we were going fishing again. I told her the last time her mom and I went fishing together was when she was in her stomach.... It is funny to hear the questions.
