    Lower unit oil change heart-attack!

Never had any lower unit problems with my 91 XP200. So today I change my L.U. oil, and I notice fine metallic flakes on the drain plug..should I get out wallet, nitro, or vasaline...or maybe all three?

No, it's normal, unless you have some chunks in there, or an excessive amount of metal in the gearlube.

Billy, I have th esam eoil. Dark is fine, just means no water is getting in. Fine particles (fine) on the drain plug are common. You are good unless your are having shifting trouble. Make sure to use all BRP/Bomb parts and fluids in her

    Here is my two cents.
When i was at school ,i remember the teacher saying that the noise ,when you move slowly from neutral to forward/back , the trac trac trac means money money money , (in service) .Could be this the cause?.
