    Thanks Jetta

    I appreciate them going to bat with Merc and getting them to replace all my Chinese made coils. Now I won't have to wonder every time I go to the lake if I'll have to idle back on 5 cylinders.

    FYI: A 250 proxs won't get a 20' boat on plan with a 27 pitch prop runnning on 5 cylinders.

    Unless its a hull that planes easy they do well to get one on 6 cyl. They can run for sure, just horrible on the gitty up.

    which mercs have the bad coils? gotta 2007 250proxs....no problems with it.....was it certain year, serial number?

    If you've made it this far you should be good. Mine in an 08 250 pro xs and I my motor has already gone through 3. The biggest problem seems to be with 08 motors. They changed manufacturing of the coils from China to Mexico last year and haven't had any problems with the ones made in Mexico.
