Barge hit KY Lake 68/80 Bridge this morning

Apparently the barge is sinking and the bridge is closed. I'm assuming the bridge will probably re-open if it passes inspection by the structural engineers. If it doesn't pass, well, oh crap.

I'm getting my information about 5th hand, so if anybody has any additional info please post it.

While a newer, wider bridge is needed, I sure hope it passes inspection.

This is all I found so far:

Good news, no major damage. I wonder if bluegill like wheat? If they do then there'll be alot of fat ones around the Aurora area this year.

Whoooo Hooo loaded with grain!!!!! New catfish hole.

And that was a pretty quick inspection. Hit at 6am inspected and back open at 8:20am. I did not know the government could work that fast.

Yep .... bridge is opened back up ..... I wonder where the barge sank. I hope it was in the main channel and didn't drift off and sink in shallow water !!! Just deep enough to hit ????????????

"Outside the river channel" covers a lot of territory..haven't been down that way all week...hope they mark this one better than they did the last one if it is a hazard to navigation...
