Dale Hollow help... posted on main forum too

As suggested, I posted here too....

I am going over to Dale Hollow on Sunday morning for my first and last trip while I am still in Middle Tenn area. I am moving back to Arkansas the first of October. Can anyone tell me where is the best place to launch the boat. I drove by there a couple of weeks ago and looked at Horse creek resort I think? It looked ok but you guys may know of a better place. Also, what are some patterns to try there is time of year? I know that is a loaded question in a way. My strengths are crankbaits, topwater, and spinnerbaits but I know that won't work so much on Dale Hollow. I'm not asking for favorite places here, just a little info of patterns and techniques to try while there. I'm not a finesse fisherman but if that is what I need to do, I will.
I convinced my Mother to come over this weekend to help me pack for my upcoming move but she didn't know that It was really to take her on this Dale Hollow trip( OK, and maybe help packing too ) We are going a day trip to fish as a memorial trip for my late father. He would have turned 69 yrs old this October. They fished alot together when I was growing up and since his un-timely death back in 2001, she doesn't get to fish that much anymore except when I get a chance to take her. Another part of the story is that my father actually grew up around Dale Hollow lake around Livingston so he fished it alot in his younger days. He moved later to Arkansas after he joined the Military.

Anyway, back to my begging of fishing info , I am just looking for a couple ideas to help catch a few fish while there.

    Thanks guys.
    Tommy

this site will have the most up to date information on DHL... right now fish are transitioning from summer to fall pattern. Your best bet is a jig, a jig and oh ya almost forgot a jig in 15-30ft of water with your boat in 45 or so. Main lake and secondary points.

Horsecreek really caters to the fisherman, so if its not too much out of your way I would launch there.

yeah not sure what part of tn your coming from but all of the ablve said are good ones i mean hell your gonna be fishing not staying at the dock right, look for the closest one to ya and drop that boat in the water and go.But yeah jigs are where its at,if you dont have any anywhere ont hat lake you can find punisher jigs they are some good ones to use,i havent been down in 3 weeks but same as ablove anywhere between 20-35 foot we was catching them mainly during dawn or dusk or at night though right now,,good luck
