    Saying Goodbye....

Cleaning out the boat this evening, getting everything out of it and off the graphs. She sure has been a good one, 1989 never seen a day in the shop, i could always rely on her to start, solid as the day when she was brought home then. It was sold to me for dirt cheap from a family friend.and my heart will always carry a little place for it. She's been well used but not abused. Now I'm in the market, z20, z520 or z19 here i come.
FAREWELL OLD FRIEND....YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!!!!! Hopefully she'll be as good to my friend as she was to me.

    Re: Saying Goodbye.... (BoozaBug)

Jarred steer clear of the Z boats, I will be the first to say the 5## is a great boat, gonna be slow but ride like a dream for a ranger. As far as the Z520s...if they weren't 8 million dollars I would consider one. If money wasn't an option, they would be very near the top of the list. But the only good Z boat I've ever been in was a z21 and its a monster, probably too big for what you're looking for. The Z20 and the Z19 are rough riding turds and most here that know rangers real well will agree with me.

house, truck, wife-to-be, dog, boat, what's next?

did you sell it or are you trading? If it were me I would do like Alliston and buy a 520 or 521 from 05-07. You will find a good deal in that year range.

I'll never buy another brand new boat! I lost my ass when I bought that Tracker and am still having a hard time selling it. You save a lot of $$ buying used, and if you look long enough, you'll still find one with the warranty left on it. (My hpdi is under warranty til 2011)

shhh....don't tell anyone your secret or people will quit buying the new boats every other year so they can be eligible for contingency money they never win

    Re: Saying Goodbye.... (bassinbrad)

im not buying new, anything from an 04-08, just depends on quality of the boat and motor. doesn't have to be a "Z" so to speak, i like allison's boat, i ride in one all the time just like it. great boat im in the market, so we'll see. i did sell my boat locally, he's coming to get it this week. she's empty.. and your right kyle, i have heard about the ride in a z20 and z19 but it's still gotta be better than a triton and and a 21' is too much for around here..

If your sticking with a Ranger then definitely go with the 520 over the Z's unless its a new Z520. That's the reason they came out with those, they ride like the old 5 series. As far as better than a Triton, it would be close but hey it should ride good when they only run about 60mph.

Apparently you havent riiden in a triton and a ranger on the same rough water, cause other than the z520 there isnt a Ranger out there that can ride with a same size Triton. But if you want the best riding boat out there get a I class Skeeter. Best riding boat I have ever been in!!!!!!!! Id buy one if I could get a Merc or a Rude on one.

Don't listen to a guy who ducks when a goose flies over his head I have a real nice demo in a Z520 and even has the best engine made in a 250 Etec for 43900.00 with all new warranty on the boat and trailer. This is one slick boat and is loaded. If you take a ride in this boat, then every thing else is o well

Get what you want and be happy its your hard earned money that is going by by any way.

Everyone keeps forgetting that yatesville fishes like its about 250 acres and there is no where to get a boat over 60. And with the 8000 boats out there on the weekend, a Z520 would eat up that chop well. As far as a toon riding worse than a z19 or 20......ride for yourself...I have..have you? I will agree with Richie, that I Class is one smooth riding boat...right there with the 520 if you ask me. If I could buy a new one tomorrow (before yammy quits making the HPDI) it would probably be a bug over the ranger just because they look cooler to me. You need to ride in some rigs before you buy a newer boat, a lot of things have changed and they all will seem a world different than an 89 model boat no matter what brand you had. Happy hunting, just remember to pick one up with a motor warranty...best peace of mind you can have with a used boat purchase.
