9 More Days on the Holler!

Spent the last 9 days on Dale! The fishing was feast or famine, but when the were eating, they were knocking the hell out of a swim beat! If you were on fish, you better have a grip on the rod. Wednesday I caught my personal best 5.10 then later that evening, I followed it up with a 6lb. My friend Wes caugh his personal best of 5.12. We caught 6 fish over 5lbs and several slots. Our best 5 each day was over 20lbs with our best day being Wed at 24+lbs. All fish were caught on a Storm Wild Eye Shad swimbait , stirkeking shadalicious with a 3/8oz wt. or a 4" grub. I never got a sniff on a jig but couldn't force myself to throw it much b/c they were eating the swimbait!

Overall a great time and couldn't ask for a better way to spend a vacation! I was also fortunate enough to be in the boat with guys that caught some Walleye that we quickly released to Lake Crisco later that evening!

I'm sorry to those who called and I didn't get back to. (Junior/Daniel) I owe you. My phone has terrible service down there and we were on the lake day light to dark every day. Junior, I'll call you this week! I owe you. Hopefully we can get down there and stay on em! Now is the time to catch a big girl for those who are wanting that shot at a trophy smallmouth!

Here is my personal best 21.5" 6lbs

    5.12 21.5"

Matt, you gotta teach me that swimbait thing. It sounds like you had a great trip.

Guys, don't worry about KY Lake, that Ranger is plenty fast enough to fallow me from hole to hole.
