    Relocating to Paducah

I am relocating to Paducah in July and am just trying to gather as much information before the move. Any information would be helpful I have never been their so I am starting at ground zero. I am looking for a place to stay so if anyone knows someone selling or renting that would be helpful to. We are looking forward to the move it was my top choice.

I don't know my away around Paducah much, but I DO know that you'll be right next to my favorite lake in the world, KY Lake.

Have you ever fished KY Lake?

If I were buying a house in the Paducah area, I would start at KY Dam Marina (Gilbertsville) and work my way towards Paducah until you find something. Calvert City is nice - about a 15 or 20 minute ride to Paducah depending on which part you're going to.

If I ever move back north from the south...I will be looking for something in that area! You will love it there. But as someone said...bring a generator!

I will keep the generator in mind, never fished ky lake but am very excited about having it in my back yard. Besides the Champion I have a 8' pond boat should I sell this before moving or are there smaller electric only ponds worth moving it out to ky

I live half way between Paducah and Kentucky Lake at Sharpe. Love the area! Exit 4 off of I-24 has everything you need. Lowes, Home Depot, Restaurants, The Mall. Great hospitals and the people are very friendly. If you like to fish I would try to find a place on the east side of Paducah so you get to the lake easy. There are a lot of residencial areas and subdivisions in the area. Reidland is a nice area.

Sell the 8' pond boat. There are a few farm ponds and watersheds around, but once you start fishing the Big K, you will have no use for the little boat!

...unless you duck hunt. I have an 8' pond hopper that comes in quite handy for the small creeks, streams, and shallow backs of bays that hold ducks

    Re: Relocating to Paducah (uscgbass)

We usually have around 300 to 320 boats in our tournament, its the biggest tournament on Ky Lake for the past several years.

The guy who can fix you up on a house is Bob Snow, he and his mom have their own business.

    Re: Relocating to Paducah (uscgbass)

There are plenty of homes for sale in the area. Call John Shadle at 270-442-3344 or Bob Snow at 270-331-2613. Both are good friends of mine and will take good care of you. Bob specializes in lake property and has a website, http://www.thesnowteam.com. John also handles rental homes and can find you something until you are ready to buy.
