    Maiden Voyage

The first trip out in the boat was awesome but the fishing was terrible. I tried everything yesterday before the lightning and had one bite and wouldn't ya know it was a darn largemouth!!

Fish for me were not on Grass, ledges, 45 degree shale, long tapering points, wood, or red clay!!! They weren't in 5ft and they weren't in 50'. They didn't hit the peanut and they didn't hit the 1/2oz cumberland craw or pbj. Overall fishing sucked for most down there this weekend. Not sure what happened b/c the weather was right for it!

I used to hate riding in the rain in the Tracker at 32mph but damn if 70mph doesn't hurt worse! Lightning popped right over the ridge I was fishing and I high tailed it outta there!

1st fish outta the new boat!

dude, did you forget to remove the juju from the old boat and apply it to the new? Hope you haven't sold the tracker yet...you let that juju go to the new owner and don't put it in your new ranger and your little smallmouth excursions to dale every other day are going to suck bad for a long time.

    Matt,
Very nice boat, hope it last you many years. As for the fishing, I was told Dale came up around 4' this past week, could have something to do with it. We had a tough time on the 1st, I only had 4 with 2 being SM.

I was down at Dale from fri to sun. fishing was tough. Caught about 20 fish all together, 6 or 7 Largmouth, 3 spots and the rest smallies with 1 21" fish. All caught on the jig. fish caught from 6 foot to 28 ft.
