    Dale Hollow

Hey Guys, I know winter is just around the corner. When would be the best time to head down to Dale and catch some smallies. Is it better to fish deep or will they come up shallow? I would like to bring this up at our next club meeting and see if some would like to head down there and catch them brownies. Thanks in advance.

Last year the bite seemed to start getting good a week or 2 before thanksgiving. That was last year though.

There are NO smalljaw in Dale that either Drew, Daniel, or Jeff don't know on a first name basis Other guys may have caught a few, but one of these three guys have named them already
I look forward to the water cooling a bit and fighting a few myself.

we had a blast down there last year all winter long..when you catch a fish in the middle of winter in 30 ft of water and the sucker is airborne seconds later 3 feet from the boat....what a rush...gotta thank JC25 for talking me in to going out in the cold and putting us on some big smalljaws

Mainly because the pattern everyone is on during this time. They bite during the summer also just the night bite is prevailing... during the day suspended fish can be found under the shad but who wants to troll like a tuna can. Boat traffic is the main reason as it gets alot of recreational use.

Kind of like the 250 days a year Erie is unfishable due to wind or snow... our time just happens to be in the summer when the bikinis are out.
