Have always thought about going there and fishing for the SM in the fall, have read some great reports about it.
Scenery should be great sense it butts up the Great Smoky Mts. National Park.
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Have also posted this Question on the SC club board

Change of scenery, different lake
Have seen that lake a couple of times and always thought about fishing it.

I went there for fishing on spring break with a couple guys from school. Its been 14 years or so but we had a good trip. The guy I went with went there every year with his dad and they fished for smallies with minnows. We caught a bunch of fish, nbut nothing real big. The scenery is nice. I remember pulling his boat up a curvy mountain road checking out the scenery and the steep drop when I heard an engine winding, thought we had dropped the transmission, but it was a pack of street bikes passing us going around the curves with their knees on the ground.
That road you where on was probably 28 and is known as the windiest road in the USA, and is a motorcycle magnet. Noticed on the net that there are now places in Fontana Village that cater to cycles.

Lot of deaths on the little road. Some good fishing!!
