    Dale Hollow Weekend Report

Adam H. and I fished out of Horse Creek today. We started in Mitchell and made our way all the way to Trooper Island. Firt hour of the morning was calm then the wind picked up. The wind was BRUTAL on us. Every time we moved the wind changed and it was howling!!!

We ended up with 2 slots today, 1 20" and 1 17". Both fish were fat!!! I had 4 come unbuttoned!! I don't get that??? I fought each of these fish for about 30 seconds then they just disappeared, and trust me, I SET THE HOOK!!!??? Seemed we weren't the only ones that struggled today though.

My fish was caught on the peanut. Adam tossed everything in his box from the jig to crankbait, jerkbait, spinnerbait, and shakey head. His fish came on the shakey head.

We're still at Horse Creek and are going to give it a shot again in the morning. Its supposed to be colder and just as windy tomorrow. Frustrated right now!!! I'll post the pics tomorrow.

Re: Dale Hollow Weekend Report (Dover)

Ya'll did pretty good Dover. I talked to several people down there and they all stuggled like us with that wind and blue skies.

We fished again today and the weather and fishing was no better. Started off calm til about 815 then it started howling again. Seemed like heavier winds today than yesterday. I had a few short strikes and was only able to boat 1 fish. It was a fat slot though. We left about 2pm frustrated cold and wind burned. It was nearly impossible for us to fish in that wind. You couldn't go anywhere to escape it. Our only fish today was on a 1/2 Legal Limit pbj jig on the main lake in about 20 ft.

Well, like Matt said... The wind was blowin' steady 30 + mph all day, both days. It sure made for some tough fishin'. Can't wait to get back down there and try 'em again. Thanks again, Matt. Had a great time, man.

Thanks for the points Drew...I needed em to get my confidence back.

This picture is from the calmer side of the lake....I didn't want to stop in the middle cause the wind was blowing the water all over us and it wasn't too pleasant. Its nothing like KY lake I'm sure, but in a small boat its all I could handle.

yea but those close together choppy 2-3' will soak your ass as bad as 4' rollers if not worse
