In the Middle of a Family mess

Sue's father who is 87 yrs old has moved from Oklahoma City to Ocean Side Ca. Twice now in less than 2 yrs. He moved to a military retirement home both times, got there and said did not want to just sit around and wait to die, this both times.
Well about 6 mo. ago he gave Sue a power of attorney ( she is a only child) after this last move his family doc. called her and he is getting senile and got all timers, she has invoked the Power of Attorney and now he is trying to fight it....which is causing all kinds of headaches.
We have already made two trips to Oklahoma and no telling how many more.
Any way this is why I have been absent....right now fishing is the last thing on my mind.
Sure could use a trip tho if nothing else to help clear my head.
Be on when I can or when my mind is clear enough. like that really happens very often.
You all be safe and catch some fish for me.

Sorry to hear about all that Ed. But I know what your wife and you are going through. My Mom gave me power of attorney for all of her needs. She wanted to go to a nursing home (where she needed to be) Once there she wanted out!! I knew she needed to be there, but it just tore me apart inside. My prayers are with you and Sue.

Hoping all works out for your wife Ed.Taking care of a failing parent has to be the worst.Thank God I've never had to do it but have watched my wife go through it once.

Been there Ed...and will probably be there again not too far down the road. It ain't easy but it has to be done...and somewhere down the road someone will probably have to do it for us.

Thanks guys I managed to stay strong while Sue went threw her 6 mo of breast cancer treatments, so guess I will manage this one as well. But this one is really being hard on her sense her mother passed 5 yrs ago, and is bring that all up again as well. Oh well guess I can collapse when its all over and done with.

Dave Sue and I just had a talk about "and somewhere down the road someone will probably have to do it for us." last night and we both realize we will "NOT" have anyone to do for US....we are on our own.
On another note Dave something gotten beaten into me one time...NEVER GIVE UP & NEVER QUITE.

Again thanks for all the and words of encouragement Sure wish it was not such a drive a night at Hooters would due me some good.

Ed: not having someone "down the road" is why God made folks like my wife that works in long term care and likes it.
