    Salmon spoon?

Did you guys see the salmon spoon that Kelly Jordon was using to fish ledges on ky lake. It was on ultimate match fishing last night. I've never seen anything like that thrown for bass.

I know of several guys that throw a jigging spoon down on the ledges. Jason Quinn has done several shows as well doing the same thing. It's pretty common.

This was no jigging spoon. I throw them. This thing was a 6" salmon spoon.

It's just a larger version of the jigging spoon. I've thrown them a few times. The action and his presentation was the same.

Yup, it is just a larger version of the exact jigging spoon that Jason Quinn used on Wylie a couple of years ago. very cool how he caught that fish just from the boat pitching up and down while he laid it on the deck

Thats what they said it was. They kidding about it. He said it was heavy like a jiggin spoon but with a bigger profile.

    Re: Salmon spoon? (buzzking2001)

This is from the UMF website.

Just over a pound…that was the difference as Kelly Jordon (20.28 pounds) barely edged Larry Nixon (19.18 pounds) to move into the Ultimate Match Fishing Championship Match. Once again Kelly Jordon literally “spoon fed” Kentucky Lake’s ledge bass with his trademark Salmon Spoon to claim the victory,

I seen that last night. It was awesome! Nixon didn't do bad either.

    Re: Salmon spoon? (Roddyrude)

Supposedly these are some kind of custom spoon made in TX by a friend of Jordan's. I heard a very outrageous price that the guy gets for them. A few guys have been throwing them this summer with varied results, just like any other lure I suppose.

I also noticed that one of Jordans big fish was caught on a crank bait. So the blade wasn't the only thing he was using effectively.
