    OK next question

OK we keep what we have the boat and the current truck LOL less than 10,000 miles on it. Sue and I had a long talk this afternoon and neither one of us want to give up this place, and the way my health & hers is going down fast we figure we have at lest 2 more years of consistent fishing left. Right now the guys that have fished with me know before the trip is out I am having to take pain pills in order to be able to keep fishing. So we will keep what we have as I was thinking along Mike D's line of thought any way, but thought I would see what others might do.
With that out of the way.....

What lakes that are NOT in Florida would you guys want to go to the most, lets limit them to lets say 4.
I have been on both lake Powell and lake Mead when I was still in high school when family lived in San Diego, Ca.

I don't know the name of any lakes above the border but I would like to experience a Canadian smallmouth trip when the timing is right for a 100 plus fish day.

    Lake Fork

    Amistad

    Guntresville

Lake Amistad, Lake Fork, Santee Cooper, and Guntersville. I've fished a lot of the Lakes in Fla and I like the Texas lakes better. I guess cause they fish more like KY lake.

Amistad, a complete tour of the Southern California lakes that would allow your boat on them, and then I would start picking states and do them one at a time. Alabama would bhe a good place to start.

I would visit Texas and go to Amistad, Lake Fork, Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn and Allan Henry. In fact...I don't think I would leave Texas!

Re: OK next question (Passion 4 Bassin)

I agree with most of the others. I'd fish in Alabama...a ton of great lakes there AND Texas. Those lakes are awesome...I'd put Amistad as my first pick in Texas. Ed hopefully soon, I'll be living in Alabama. When I finally sell my place here in Indiana...we'll set up some fishing in that state!!

    Amistad for sure.

One thing I'd also try, Ed, is floating some rivers for smallies. I've never done it, but have heard if you get the right river you can catch 50 to 100 smallies a day on those float trips. There's supposedly a really good river in Virginia. I'll see if I can find the ifon.

Slop, It's the NEW River... I have spent a many days floating and wading this river. It is definitely a top 10 trip of a lifetime if you have never been.

I would tour different states like previoulsly stated, dependig on the season.

Erie, St. Clair, Most of the lakes around Traverse City MI, Lake of the Woods and the english river around kenora (been there, want to go again), whatever lake is currently hot in Mexico.

    Anywhere there are smallmouths really.

All lakes mentioned are awesome, however, I think Lake Erie needs to be one of the four. Catching 50+ SM on an average day is quite an experience.

    Re: OK next question (200xp)

Thanks for all the ideas guys Only one I do not like is California, raised in that state and not going back. And do not know if you are all are aware of it or not but most of Calif. popular fishing lakes ( like Castaic ) you have to have a RESERVATION to get on them, you can not just show up and go fishing.

This place with all the animals kinda has us tired down, but Sue did say she could manage to keep the place under control for a week on her own, with a neighbors help if anything went wrong.

So any one interested in a 1 week trip next spring or this fall to a lake in Alabama probably, I will supply the Truck and Boat
Sue does not like the idea of me going alone on such a long trip to a strange lake, either I got a good wife and or she thinks I am getting old

Slopfishin-I have been keeping an eye out for a john boat for just that purpose, rivers that is.
