Gonna be very windy this weekend....be careful. The bass are moving shallow big time.

First post on the board, great forum. I hope to be down there as well putting in at Panorama Shores on Blood River and fishing where the wind allows me. I'll be in a Ranger 520 Dual Console, 225 Opti.

How Shallow can you Run?
Fished Saturday. Launched on Barkley ... went to Kentucky first and had 4 keepers in about 45 minutes. I decided to run back to Barkley as the wind was coming up and I knew Kentucky was going to stand up. Caught tons of fish ... 30 or so ... but mostly 14 inches. I was using a Charmer Baits Timber Pup most of the day. The fish wouldn't leave it alone !! There were a couple of places I think I could have gone and caught more keepers, but I wasn't gonna mess with the wind. all in all, it was a fun day. Oh and Buck .... all the keepers came out of Sphinkter Creek.![]()
Hey Greg,
What color of the Timber Pup were you throwing?
If you don't want to put it on here IM me. I'm co-owner of Charmer Baits and would like to hear your thoughts.

I also had a great morning Saturday. I had 5 that went 18 pounds in less than 2 hours, by far my best morning ever on KY Lake. I got to fish every morning for 2-3 hours Saturday Sunday and Monday, then I would take my 6 year old out for a couple hours in the afternoon. The shallow bite was pretty steady the whole time, but I never duplicated the size that I got Saturday morning. I had to come back to Lexington yesterday and today, but will head back to the lake for more Thursday-Sunday. I'm sure the cold front will change the good shallow bite I was on.
I also did a very stupid thing Monday night, when I backed the boat under the Carport, my motor was down too low and I took a chunk the size of a quarter off the tip of my skeg. Does anybody here know whether that can be filed and shaped back, or whether that will have any significant effect on performance? (225 Opti). I'm sick to my stomach every time I think that I did such a stupid thing. Thanks in advance for any help.
